Oscar N. Onyema

Oscar Onyema is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. Prior to this role in the Nigerian Stock Exchange, he was well proven in United States financial markets managing market structure initiatives, products and securities exchange businesses having worked for a period of 15 years. Mr. Onyema, before moving to the USA worked four years, in the Nigerian information technology sector.
The CEO is the Chairman of Central Securities Clearing System Limited (CSCS), which serves as the Clearing House of the Nigerian Stock market. He is also, currently a council member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria. In 2009, Mr. Onyema founded the Market Strategists LLC and consulted under the Gerson Lehrman Group platform in the United States. He successfully completed consultations, enabling decision-makers at investment firms and corporations better understand products, services, companies, and issues in the global financial markets. The CEO has served as the first black Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of American Stock Exchange (Amex), which he joined in 2001 and instrumentally integrated Amex equity business into NYSE Euronext after it acquired Amex in 2008. He later went to manage NYSE Amex equity trading business, which he helped position as a premier market for small and mid cap securities.
In 2008, Mr. Onyema got Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 24, and 63 brokerage licenses with Seamount Execution Services LLC, a FINRA member firm in New York. In the late 1990s, he held various positions at New York Mercantile Exchange where he managed futures market structure initiatives. Mr. Onyema started his post NYSC career in Nigeria at Data Processing Maintenance and Services Ltd. (an IBM business partner) where he sold IBM mid-range system solutions in the early 1990s. He served as Adjunct Lecturer of Economics at Pace University, New York between 1999 and 2005. He is active in Security Traders Association of New York, and Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, USA.

Mr. Onyema holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College, New York City. He received his bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

Adeolu Bajomo

Mr. Ade Bajomo, the Executive Director, Market Operations and Technology (MOT), joins The Nigerian Stock Exchange to lead the operational and technology transformation of the leading sub-Saharan Africa exchange as it repositions for growth and global leadership through effective exploitation of technology and efficient business and market operations processes. With a wealth of experience and solid track record in the global financial services sector spanning banking, capital markets, asset management and insurance, Mr. Bajomo has led major transformation and service improvement programmes, participated in business growth initiatives and technology and operations integration of acquired entities in the sector. Prior to joining The Exchange, he worked at Barclays Bank PLC. as the Head of Replatforming Programmes for Africa and Indian Ocean region, driving significant technology and business operations changes in the region.
Mr. Bajomo has also held several director level/leadership positions in the financial services sector, including Technology Director at Fortis Bank UK, Head of IT Systems and Strategy at Pearl Insurance UK and management roles at Deutsche Bank and Morgan Grenfell Asset Management. He will support the NSE Council and leadership team in the transformation of The Exchange, ensuring that appropriate world class technologies and market operations strategies are identified, adopted and implemented to support the growth opportunities and enhance the overall liquidity and transparency of the Exchange as it seeks to demutualise, increase market share and listings, launch new products and enhance its overall attractiveness to both local and foreign investors. Mr. Bajomo has over 23 years of professional experience. He is a chartered member of the British Computer Society.

Bola Adeeko

Bola Adeeko has over 18 years of broad professional experience spanning various functions such as Finance, Program Management, Product Development and Sales-Relationship Management, working for large global firms such as JPMorgan Chase, First Data Corporation and Sara Lee. Prior to joining the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Bola was a Vice President, Global Trade Finance at JPMorgan Chase, where he most recently was responsible for developing new trade finance business and managing a client portfolio of Fortune 1000 companies in the Oil and Gas, Mining and Power sectors. During his 11 year stint with the bank, he also managed strategic large scale program initiatives and attained a Six-Sigma Black Belt certification from leading one of such efforts.

Taba Peterside

Mrs. Taba Peterside is a General Manager and heads the Listings Sales and Retention department. She joined The Exchange in November 2008. Mrs. Peterside has twenty five years of local and international experience in investment banking, financial sector regulation and analysis, and multi country programme management. As head of Corporate Finance at the then Investment Banking & Trust Company (now Stanbic IBTC), Mrs. Peterside was responsible for bringing many landmark transactions to the capital market. At the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, one of the world’s most respected deposit insurers, she specialized in risk management and corporate governance compliance among insured banks.
Mrs. Peterside has also been a Program Manager with the International Finance Corporation (the private sector arm of the World Bank group) based in Ghana, from where she led equipment leasing technical assistance programs in Ghana, Tanzania and Rwanda. Under her leadership, Ghana and Tanzania experienced a significant rise in leasing volumes, and a leasing law was passed in Tanzania. Mrs. Peterside was also a pioneer staff of the Africa Finance Corporation. Mrs. Peterside has an active interest in financial market development and economic issues generally. She has been a member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, and a correspondent for the Economist Intelligence Unit, where she authored specialized financial sector reports on Nigeria and Canada. She has also served on several committees on various aspects of financial market development, and is an accomplished speaker and presenter. She has attended numerous professional training courses, in corporate finance, credit and general management, both in Nigeria and internationally at Harvard Business School, Citibank and Bank of America among others.

Ikponmwosa Obaseki

Mr. Obaseki joined The Nigerian Stock Exchange on March 12th, 1990 as an Executive Assistant. He rose to the status of a Manager in 1997, Senior Manager in 1999 and Principal Manager in 2002 and was promoted to an Assistant General Manager in January 2005. Mr. Obaseki was in January 2009, promoted to the position of a Deputy General Manager as a result of hard work and dedication to duty. Mr. Obaseki has contributed to the growth and development of Information Technology in The Exchange. He is focused and possesses general managerial skills.
He was a member of the Automated Trading System (ATS) implementation team, a member of the team who saw to The newly Built Data Centre, member of the team who helped in putting together The Disaster recovery site, a member of the team who helped in the redesign of the trading floor in Lagos and also has been very much involved in the successful commissioning of all the trading floors and remote trading sites in Lagos. He has attended several courses in the US, UK, Canada, Ghana and Nigeria. At present, he heads the Market Operations Unit.

Funsho Fatobi

Funso Fatobi is the Deputy General Manager, Branch Network in the Business Development Division and has twenty eight years of experience in investment banking, commercial bank lending, project appraisal, fund management, financial analysis and advisory services among others. He joined The Exchange in 2003 and was Head of Administration and Human Capital until September 2004 when he moved to head the Monitoring Unit of the Listing Department; his role being the effective management of the pre and post listing requirements as they affect listed companies on the Exchange. Between 2005 and 2008, Mr. Fatobi was in charge of the Quotation/ Listing Unit where all listing applications are handled to ensure they meet with the Exchange’s listing standard. The repackaging of the alternative listing platform; THE ALTERNATIVE SECURITIES MARKET (ASeM) was his initiative.
Prior to joining the Exchange, Mr. Fatobi was the pioneer head of Corporate Finance department of Intercontinental Merchant Bank (now Intercontinental Bank PLC.) where he anchored the first company to be sold by the Federal Government under its privatization programme in the late nineteen eighties. He later became the Head of Intercontinental Bank’s Corporate Banking Division with responsibilities covering all commercial lending, primary capital market activities as well as the bank’s stockbrokerage subsidiary firm. In Icon Merchant Bank Ltd where he started his investment banking career, Mr. Fatobi was account officer to some of the major listed companies on the Exchange today.

Mr. Fatobi holds an MBA degree in Business Administration and has attended numerous professional training courses and seminars both in Nigeria and internationally in Citibank, New York Institute of Finance, United States Securities and Exchange Commission among others.

Cyril Eigbobo

Cyril has a wealth of experience in the financial services sector spanning banking and investment management.
He was most recently the Chief Finance Officer of Access Investments and Securities Limited (the asset management subsidiary of Access Bank Plc) where he set up, and had oversight of, financial control and back office operations.
Prior to Access Investments and Securities Limited, Cyril has also held several senior management level positions including Finance Controller at Afrinvest West Africa Limited, Head of Financial Performance Management at United Bank for Africa Plc and Chief Inspector at Lead Bank Plc.
He has led and participated in major business process change initiatives and IT implementation projects.

Dante is a communications professional with over thirteen years experience in Advertising, Corporate Identity Development, Events Management, Public Relations, New Product Development and Direct Marketing.
He was Head of Brand and Corporate Development at Cornerstone Financial Group where he had general oversight functions for R&D, Competitive Intelligence, Product Development, Internal and External Communications, Brand Management and Corporate Innovation. Before then, he was Head of Brand Development at TBWA and was in charge of the group’s 2nd line Full Service Communications firm where he was involved in the initiation, coordination and execution of communication initiatives for some of the most successful Nigerian Brands in the past nine years.
In the course of his career in marketing and communications, Dante worked as a consultant at different times with the Leo Burnett Advertising Group, Insight/Troyka Group and TBWA\Concept Group.
Dante has broad experience on local and multinational brands in the areas of Aviation, Tobacco, Telecoms, Health Care, Oil and Gas, Shipping, Banking, Food & Beverages, Insurance and State Governments.
