Collective Investment Scheme Overview
 
​The Nigerian Stock Exchange provides fund managers a first-rate platform for listing collective investment schemes.  Funds are a type of collective investment scheme.  Collective investment schemes are vehicles for portfolio diversification.  Investing in this type of product provides access to specialized investments that are professionally managed and may provide a higher level of risk management.  The Exchange currently offers collective investment schemes such as REITs, specialized funds (e.g. energy) and unit trusts.  Most of these products are listed (and traded) in our equities market on the Main Board; mutual funds and unit trusts are not traded on the Exchange.
